Delta Pantherfest Invitational recap! Milesplit results CB Titans Result Page Congrats to everyone who competed at the Delta Panther Invite! It was an awesome day in the sunshine and felt so good to run on a 400 meter track! Delta puts on a great event and gives awards to the top 6 places in each event. 1st-3rd place earns medals and ribbons for 4th-6th places (these will be handed out during Monday’s practice). There are so many things to celebrate in addition to personal records (PRs) & Season Bests (SBs)! We had a collective total of 18 PRs! *Team Scores With smaller rosters since not everyone could come this weekend, both teams placed in the top ten scoring points in almost every event CB was entered in. The boys placed 5th and the girls placed 8th! *Track and Field Rookies! Sawyer, Oskar, Will, Tanner, Paloma, and Ali toed the line for their first time in a high school track and field meet! Each of these athletes ran very well in events from the 100 meter to the 1600 meters! Congrats on your first track meet! *Growth from 2024 to 2025! Success in track & field presents itself in many ways! Looking back at last year’s Delta results, it was awesome to see the growth in the athletes such as Ilo & Colby faster in the 400, the relays of the boys 4x800, girls 4x200, and boys 4x400 were all faster than 2024, Sage, Eva & Cody jumping higher and farther in their jumping events, the distance crew of Giles, Max, Flint, Cody with faster times, and Eva running a speedy 200! For any fellow track nerds like me, here are links to the Delta 2024 results to compare results from Saturday Delta 2025 Event Results Relays We had 4 relays entered and each relay was in jeopardy of not racing. To have a successful relay, we need 4 runners to successfully carry the baton around the track! When possible, we list alternates that will fill in if needed. Four individuals “took one for the team” so we didn’t have to scratch the events. Boys 4x800 It was our first event on the track. Tanner warmed up with his 4 teammates and 15 minutes before the gun went off, Jake decided to play it safe due to a nagging quad issue so Tanner joined the team of Flint, Max, and Giles. They ran 11 seconds faster than 2024 to place 2nd overall! Girls 4x200 The runners had limited practice (like once or twice) with baton handoffs so we were banking on past experience. Well, Paloma stepped in as an alternate with 1 day of baton practice and she successfully helped Ilo, Brie, and Eva to run an excellent race to place 2nd overall! Girls 4x400: On Friday, Brie agreed to run the 4x400 when we asked! She ran an awesome leg to help her teammates, Ilo, Ali, Josie to place 4th place in the final event of the day for the girls! Boys 4x400: Due to a long day of racing and some new aches and pains, we were so close to scratching our team which would have been a bummer for a few of the runners who wanted to race. Unsure of what to do, we started to pack up our brand new swanky tent (thanks Booster Club) when the brilliant idea to ask Max came to us! Max, who believed he was done, changed back into his uniform and toed the line with Sawyer, Colby, and Giles, They pushed through the strong wind to earn 4th place. Field Events High Jump: With very, very limited practice, Cody equaled his PR to place 7th. This jump was 5 inches higher than last year at the same meet. Shot Put The trio of Ilo, Josie, and Brie went to the ring to throw the shot put. In their 2nd year of throwing, Josie and Brie opened their season with strong results! Ilo first threw the shot on Tuesday and had a great result on Saturday improving with each throw! Long Jump Long jump veterans Eva and Sage jumped way further than last year at Delta! They scored team points by placing 5th and 8th respectively! Sprints (100, 200, 400) 100 meter dash Brie, Paloma, and Sage had great starts to run very well! Paloma was the first Titan over the line to place 5th overall and Sage scored more team points by placing 7th! Brie ran a PR in her first open 100! For the boys, Bradley was our solo Titan and he ran his fastest 100 ever for a PR! 200 meter dash We had 4 athletes racing and we walked away with 4 PRs! Eva and Paloma set the tone by racing so well and placed 3rd and 5th overall! With the wind picking up, Bradley and Will had strong races in difficult conditions earning their 200 PRs! 400 meters Ilo smoked her 2024 time by running 4 seconds faster to place 3rd overall. Cracking the top 10, Josie ran a PR to place 9th. In the boys race, Colby bested his PR to place 2nd overall! James opened his season with a 7th place finish and in a PR time, Sawyer was right behind him in 8th place. Will shot out of the blocks and ran a solid time to earn his first PR! Distance events (800, 1600, 3200) 800 meter run In her first HS race, Ali competed to the very end to nip a runner in the last 10 meters to place 3rd overall! Such a great first 800! The boys race had 2 heats, Tanner toed the line for his 3rd race of the day! With fatigue in his legs, Tanner raced very well for a PR to place 4th in his heat and 13th overall! The next heat had Giles and Max racing for the top spots by running faster than 2024. Giles earned a 3rd place medal and Max walked away with a 5th place ribbon! 1600 meter run In the first heat, we had 2 Titans who set the tone for great racing! Oskar & Tanner, toed the line for their first high school 1600 ever! Each of them had great races and battled to the line. Tanner battled a runner down the straight away to finish 2nd in the heat and 10th overall. Running a very well paced race, then digging deep the final lap, Oskar pushed it to the finish line to run a time way faster than his time goal going into the meet. In heat two, Cody and Flint were able to showcase their experience and winter running. As the race played out, the battle was for 2nd place with Cody, Flint, and a Telluride runner in a pack! Cody ran a PR to place 3rd with Flint right behind him in 4th with his fastest 1600 opener ever! 3200 meter run Cody was the lone Titan in this race. He and the Telluride runner worked together in the wind for over half the race! Cody earned another medal by placing 2nd overall!
